OUR STORY

Launched in 2016, NATURAL BORN WINE began as a weekly stall at a farmer’s market in London. Seven years on, it’s still just the two of us - Oli and Sam - but we’ve grown into one of the UK’s leading importers of small-production natural wine, supplying restaurants, bars, shops and events around the country, while also still selling our wines through our weekly market stall.

We believe that wine should taste like where it comes from, so we look for wines that are alive with the terroir that created them, not killed off with harsh chemicals, flavourings, dyes or additives.

The wines we source are fully natural, vegan, unfiltered and made with native yeast - better for you, winemakers, the planet, and the morning after.

Natural wine is more than just wine. It’s more than organic. It’s more than unfiltered. It’s more than a trend. Natural wine is a movement. It’s a connection. It’s the big picture and the small farmer. It’s bees. It’s wild flowers. It’s long roots and it’s soil, soil, soil. It’s TAKING BACK THE LAND. It gives a damn. IT’S past ways and future generations. It’s instinct. It’s feeling. IT’S HUMAN HANDS AND NO SHORTCUTS. iT’S ALL THE SENSES. It’s nothing added. iT’S nothing taken away. IT’S VARIATION. it’s IMPERFECTION. It’s impossible flavours and otherworld colours. It’s new horizons and BOTTLED LIVES.

Our producers

Our winemakers are everything to us. Small-scale and often family-run, these are producers who pride themselves in working with nature rather than against it, from vineyard to bottle, preserving the delicate biodiversity of their land and the true character of their wines.

Conestabile della Staffa

Around 12 hectares of vines were in need of some love when Danilo Marcucci took the reigns at Conestabile della Staffa but by 2015 he was able to release the estate’s first vintage in 60 years, using native grapes, natural processes, wild yeast, no temperature control and no added sulphur.

GARCÍA PÉREZ

The García Pérez family tend to their old vines, many of them own-rooted and pre-phylloxera, dotted around the south-eastern region of Castilla–La Mancha, in the valley between the Júcar and Cabriel rivers, known for its hot dry summers, cold winters and cool winds from the Levant. This is Manchuela country.

Vini di Giovanni

Raised on the rough terrain of the Barbagia Mountains of Sardinia, Giovanni Battista Mesina moved with his family to Umbria as a child in search of more peaceful pastures, initially to watch over their sheep (Giovanni is a third-generation shepherd) but now, Giovanni also makes natural wines.
