Launched in 2016, NATURAL BORN WINE began as a weekly stall at a farmer’s market in London. Back then natural wine wasn’t as widely understood as it is now - so we positioned ourselves right there between the organic fruit and veg sellers to get people thinking and talking about wine as an agricultural product, one that’s best for our health and the environment when it’s not mass-produced or heavily processed.

Seven years on, it’s still just the two of us - Oli and Sam - and we’ve still got our little market stall but we’ve also grown into one of the UK’s leading importers of small-production natural wine, supplying restaurants, bars, shops and events around the country.

As importers, we look for fully natural wines that reflect the people and places that made them. Inside our portfolio, at our market stalls and across our events, you'll find a diverse range of handcrafted wines, mainly from Italy, Spain and California, for now. Each bottle we sell at our market stall comes with its own story (written by us), telling the tale of its origins and celebrating the growers, not just for their tasty wines but for the environmental, ethical and holistic choices they've made in creating them.

When we say ‘natural’ we really mean it, so expect grapes that have been carefully hand-harvested on sustainable, biodiverse vineyards that are free from pesticides, herbicides and fungicides; these grapes are pressed and fermented with native yeast and often no temperature control; then the wine is bottled unfiltered, with no additives or flavourings whatsoever, including (for the most part) no added sulphites.

Before Covid, we would turn our little HQ - a converted stable in south-east London (with its own grapevine!) - into a pop-up wine bar and bottle shop once a month. Those nights got a bit too popular, though, so we’re on the lookout for a bigger space to hold regular natural wine events.
